FSMAS AGM 2007
  The Annual General Meeting 2007 was hosted on March 2007 at Safra Toa Payoh at the Whitley Room on the 29th March 2007 at 3pm.
   
FSMAS Technical Seminar Cum Networking Night 2007
  This Technical Seminar entitled "Challenging the future mindset of Fire Safety Professionals" was delivered by our Hon. Secretary's Desmond Lee on Nov 2007 and was awarded 5 CPD points by SCDF. The Seminar attracted more than 100 participants and was held at Hotel Royal.
   
FSMAS TECHNICAL SEMINAR 2008
 

The FSMAS Technical Seminar was organized on the 29 July 2008 at Hotel Royal, Newton. The two prestigious speakers were ER. Matthew Kwek, a Professional Engineer who delivered a topic on “Understanding Building
Performance Based for FSM” and Dr. Carlos Perez, R + D Manager at LPG Técnicas en Extinción de Incendios who delivered a topic on “Latest knowledge and selection of different type of Gas Suppression Systems in market”.
The seminar had a strong attendance of 198 participants and 3 CPD points were awarded by SCDF.

   
FSMAS AGM 2009
 

The Annual General Meeting 2009 was hosted on 20 March 2009 at Hotel Parkroyal at Kitchener Road cum a technical talk on topic “SAVE YOUR LIFE WITH Automated External Defibrillator (AED), At the Heart of Matter” 5 CPD points are awarded by SCDF and the event had a strong attendance of 152 members.

   
FSM BRIEFING 2009
  The FSM Briefing 2009 was conducted by SCDF in the months of May 2009, June 2009 and July 2009. In all, there were 12 half-day  sessions. Vice President Mr. David Goh and Committee Member ER Matthew Kwek were invited to present the topic: Overview of  Fire Alarm Systems and Maintenance in the briefing.
   
LAUNCH OF NEW SS 546 : 2009 CODE OF PRACTICE FOR EMERGENCY VOICE COMMUNICATION SSTEMS IN BUILDINGS
 

SPRING Singapore had conducted a seminar on Wednesday 26.08.2009 to launch the new SS546:2009 Code of Practice for Emergency Voice Communication Systems in buildings.
Our President, Mr Benedict Koh, who is also a member of the Technical Committee for Emergency Alarm and Communication Systems with SPRING Singapore has been invited by SPRING to share his perspective views on the practical applications and implementation benefits of the revised standards.
The invitation is a recognition of the association and the professionalism of all our FSMs in Singapore.CDF.

   
SS 332:2007 – FIRE DOOR TECHNICAL SEMINAR
 

The ½-day seminar was organized on the 16 October 2009 at the Hersing Auditorium, Hersing Hub. The seminar was to enable Fire Safety Mangers to understand and recognize applicable requirements for inspection, testing and maintenance of fire door, evaluate key features and components of fire door and FSMs’ responsibilities concerning inspection testing and maintenance of fire door in compliance to SS332:2007.
3 CPD points were awarded by SCDF for the seminar and it had attracted 108 participants.

   
FSMAS AGM 2010
 

The Annual General Meeting 2010 was hosted on 26 March 2010 at Hersing Auditorium Hersing Hub Toa Payoh. A FSMAS Seminar on the Fundamentals of Fire Risk Assessment was also organized on the same day. The seminar was approved as an accredited course of the FSM’s CPD and 3 CPD points were awarded by SCDF.

Objective of the seminar was to educate Fire Safety Managers to identify exposes to fire loss that could interfere with company’s objectives, analyze the potential impacts and consequences of these identified exposes, selecting the various alternatives of handling such a risk, implementing the chosen alternative, monitoring the effectiveness and appropriateness of the chosen alternative and selecting the various alternatives of handling such a risk.

   
FSMAS TECHNICAL SEMINAR SS546:2009 CODE OF PRACTICE FOR EMERGENCY VOICE COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS IN BUILDINGS
 

More than 140 participants attended the FSMAS Technical Seminar SS546: 2009 Code of Practice for Emergency Voice Communication (EVC) Systems in Building on 21 May 2010 at HDB Hub Auditorium. The seminar was supported by Spring Singapore.
3 topics were delivered during the seminar and they were: 

  • The overview of the SS 546:2009  Code of Practice for Emergency Voice Communication Systems in Buildings
  • Guidance for the design and modification work of emergency voice communication systems in buildings
  • Design and installation of emergency voice communication systems to SS546:2009
The seminar was approved as an accredited course of the FSM CPD, WSHO CPD and PE CPD Program.  3 FSM-CPD points, 3 SDU points and 3 PDU points were awarded respectively.
